Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure for Building, an IoT-enabled architecture, optimized the building’s power distribution, lighting, HVAC through 30,000 connection points, visualized the energy consumption for lifetime energy efficiency improvement, as well as delivering a superior indoor environment for occupant experiences.

Hong Kong — Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, shared its successful collaboration on sustainability with Link REIT and Nan Fung Group at The Quayside, in order to achieve the shared vision on Smart City ambitions in Hong Kong.

Today, buildings account for 90% of Hong Kong’s total electricity consumption, compared to a global average of 40%. Building management plays a crucial role in achieving new energy savings, thus creating a sustainable future for Hong Kong.

To drive energy efficiency, as well as improving operational excellence and sustainability, Link REIT and Nan Fung Group has partnered with Schneider Electric. With EcoStruxure for Building from Schneider, The Quayside is able to achieve its sustainability goals with optimizing the building’s power distribution, lighting and HVAC through 30,000 connection points, visualizing the energy consumption for lifetime energy efficiency improvements, as well as delivering a superior indoor environment for occupant experience to achieve sustainability goals.

An IoT-enabled smart building with best-in-class solutions

With Schneider Electric’s plug-and-play, open, interoperable IoT-enabled platform, EcoStruxure for Building, The Quayside is benefited from increased levels of operational data visibility and control to better manage building performance, occupant comfort and energy efficiency.

Our IoT-enabled architecture and platform — EcoStruxure for Building brings best-in-class energy efficiency management to The Quayside. EcoStruxure Building Operation integrated multiple systems for centralized, real-time control and management across the building at The Quayside, delivering actionable insights for better management and optimization of building performance. In addition, Automation Servers and VAV Controllers adjust the air volume based on data collected from a series of connected field devices, including CO2, temperature and humidity sensors, thus improving indoor air quality and ventilation.

With the help of Schneider Electric’s products and solutions, The Quayside has achieved several international green certifications and awards, including:

  • LEED Platinum certification;
  • BEAM Plus Platinum rating;
  • WELL Precertification at the Gold level;
  • Gold winner in the “Best Green Development” category at the 2019 MIPIM Asia Awards

The Quayside’s parking spaces were also equipped with 100 of Schneider Electric’s EVlink Chargers — charging stations, which provides drivers with convenient and seamless driving experience, making the property one of the most electric-car-friendly buildings in Hong Kong.
